Abstract

This book chapter discusses the technique of free fat grafting lipofilling, also known as autologous fat transfer, for enhancing volume and contour in various areas of the body. A case presentation is provided, describing a patient with posttraumatic forehead contour deformity. The diagnosis is posttraumatic forehead contour deformity.

The operative procedure involves the harvesting of fat from the patient's lower abdomen using Coleman's technique. The harvested fat is processed through centrifugation, and forehead contouring is achieved by injecting the fat graft. The postoperative period remains uneventful, and satisfactory results are observed during follow-up examinations.

The discussion section introduces free fat grafting lipofilling as a versatile surgical technique for volume enhancement and rejuvenation. The surgical technique is described, including the harvesting of fat, processing of fat, site preparation, fat injection, and postoperative care.

Advantages of free fat grafting lipofilling include natural results, versatility, long-lasting outcomes, and its minimally invasive nature. The limitations of the technique, such as variable fat survival and the need for surgical expertise, are also discussed. The chapter emphasizes the practical application of free fat grafting lipofilling in treating posttraumatic forehead contour deformity, highlighting the importance of surgical skill, patient selection, and postoperative management.
