Abstract

It is becoming increasingly clear that pharmacological treatments for dementia should be used as a second-line approach and that non-pharmacological options should, in best practice, be pursued first. This study examines current non-pharmacological approaches. Bhutan needs a national assessment to determine dementia at the community level to identify the exact number of persons living with dementia. Bhutan health department can develop a standard training module on non-pharmacological interventions based on the context and lifestyle.
