Abstract

The Primary productivity dcteriuined the total productivity of ¡lic ecosystem. OhIc (1965), Goldman (1968) and Nasar (1980) old the new that primary productivity provide a quantitative information about the amount of energy available to support the bioactivity of the system. According to Wielgolaski (1975) there is a need for greatly increased understanding of ¡he primar productivity of various ecosystems from tropical rainforests to Tundra, Arctic to Antarctic aquatics and marine ecosystem. Because of the central themes of International Biological Progammes (IBP) is to compare the productivity of different geographical regions of the world. The solar radiation is traped and stored as potential energy during the primary production and the whole biological system thrives on this very tored energy.
