EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT AND CLIMATE CHANGE: IMPLICATIONS FOR EFFECTIVE CLASSROOM ORGANIZATION

Climate change is a very devastating change that is sweeping across the globe. It includes among others, effect on environment and other areas such as the teaching and learning environment and must be checked as quickly as possible so that education will not seriously be hindered. This paper examined educational management and climate change: Implications for effective classroom organization. The research design adopted was descriptive survey. Three research questions guided the study. The instrument used was a 28 item questionnaire built on a 4- point rating scale. The data from the three research questions were analyzed using mean. Findings amongst others indicated that: eleven items on forms climate change manifests to disrupt classroom organization effectiveness were identified, eight negative implications of the disruptions on classroom organization effectiveness were also identified. Students’ environmental literacy and climate change management skills are recommended as urgent steps towards checking future devastations. Government agencies should as a matter of fact do proper inspection of sites and soil before siting schools to reduce the impact of vehement wind. Children should be immunized regularly against preventable diseases that come with climate change.
